Initial Boot and Function Testing: I began by booting each MacBook to assess its overall functionality. This included testing essential components such as the keyboard, trackpad, screen, and speakers to ensure they were operating as intended. Any anomalies were documented for further diagnosis.
Disassembly and Cleaning: After the initial assessment, I carefully disassembled the MacBooks, taking care to organize screws and components for efficient reassembly. I conducted a thorough cleaning of internal components to remove dust and debris, which is critical for maintaining optimal performance.
Battery and Hard Drive Replacement: Many MacBooks required a battery replacement due to diminished capacity. I ensured to replace old batteries with high-quality replacements. Hard drives were upgraded to solid-state drives (SSDs) to enhance speed and performance, ensuring faster boot times and improved application load times.
CPU Maintenance: All MacBooks received new thermal paste to the CPUs, ensuring efficient heat dissipation and improving overall performance.
Screen Replacement: I also successfully replaced screens on MacBooks with severe damage, including cracked displays or damaged pixels. This involved sourcing high-quality replacement screens and ensuring proper installation.
OS Installation: After hardware repairs were completed, I reinstalled macOS on the newly installed drives. This included setting up the operating system from scratch, ensuring all updates were applied, and configuring system preferences to provide a seamless user experience.
Final Testing: Once reassembled, each MacBook underwent a final round of testing to ensure all repairs were successful. Functionality checks were performed again on all hardware components to confirm their operational status.
